January raffle to benefit BRASS

Mitch Evans, a local bicyclists, bicycle race promoter, and wood worker extraordinaire, has started something new in conjunction with the Zeeland Street Market, located at 2031 Perkins Road, one block from Hundred Oaks. Each month Mitch is putting one of his turned wood pieces up for a raffle. All raffle proceeds go to a non-profit and January's recipient is BRASS!
On the last Friday of each month, Mitch will draw a name from the jar of raffle tickets. The winner gets a nice chunk of "Son of a Slovenian" wood made by Mitch.
Mitch says, "Raffle tickets are a buck a shot. I should have a PayPal link up soon and I'll have a link for it." Of course, if one is inclined to hedge one's bets, more tickets means a better chance of being the lucky winner. It also means BRASS will benefit even more.
The bowl this month, seen in the image to the left, is a nicely spalted pecan. It measures about 16" in diameter and about 6" in height. Please come see it in person at Zeeland Street Market. While there you may want to take a moment to enjoy one of the Market's delicious lunch offerings.
UPDATE: To purchase raffle tickets from a distance, go to Pay Pal and send your very generous payment to mevans267@cox.net. Once Mitch sees you have donated, he will put your name in the drawing once for each dollar you contribute.
